To openly inform about serious issues with Hospitality Club.
OpenHospitalityClub.org
Hospitality Club is managed in a very unhospitable way.
- There is no official organization. Instead, the "Club" is tightly controlled by Veit Kuehne.
- There are nasty Google Ads
- Messages are censored on the presence of terms such as "BeWelcome" and "CouchSurfing"
- Members have been removed for merely mentioning the word "BeWelcome" in their profile summary
(Former) HC volunteers have tried to open up Hospitality Club before, which has led to the creation of BeWelcome.
CouchSurfing is slightly better but there are also many issues with that organization, though slightly less problematic.

Why is HC so unefficient?, another thread in the Hospitality Club group at CouchSurfing.
other BIG HC defects
- HC deletes members without telling them any reason
- HC is full of not active or fake members and seems not caring at all to cleanup its database
- HC never answers to feedback requests from members
- there is no software or graphical improvement in years
- all the front page promises are lies, considered what really happens inside the community (censorship, nepotism, lack of control, ...)

Hm, this is quite interesting:
CouchSurfing has been well known for it's incidents.
One of them was a famous rape that happen at staying in the flat of the CouchSurfing user:

The other thing is already "famous" request of money donation, in order to register to CouchSurfing.
This tells you how "charity" the CouchSurfing really is.
All the other services, do not ask from their users to pay them in order to register.
Cheers.
